Enjoy England & AA logos

Accommodation ratings give you an indication of what you can expect when choosing where to stay. The number of stars awarded reflects the levels of service and comfort.
1 star - Simple, practical, no frills
2 star - Well presented and well run
3 star - Good level of quality and comfort
4 star - Excellent standard throughout
5 star - Exceptional with a degree of luxury
(logo - AA highly commended yellow stars)
The AA ‘highly commended’ award is given to those guest accommodation businesses whose assessment score falls in the upper 10% of their star rating.
(logo - AA camping pennants)
Caravan parks and campsites are rated using either a star rating from Enjoy England or a one to five black pennant rating from the AA.

Nottinghamshire Approved Accommodation

Businesses with this logo have been assessed to ensure they met minimum ‘legal, safe and clean’ standards, as specified by Visit England approved assessors.
Breakfast awards

Guest accommodation can also be eligible for Breakfast awards. These are awarded for meals that exceed the quality requirements of the establishment’s star rating.
Condé Nast awards

These properties are recommended, through annual inspection, by Condé Nast Johansens.
National Accessible Scheme
If you have particular mobility, visual or hearing needs, look out for the National Accessible Scheme (NAS) symbols. Properties and attractions displaying these symbols will have met the NAS criteria. The mobility symbol indicates that a property is typically suitable for a person with sufficient mobility to climb a flight of steps but would benefit from fixtures and fittings to aid balance.

Farm Stay
Members of these organisations are all farming businesses of a high standard and have been quality assessed either by Quality in Tourism (Enjoy England) or the AA.
Restaurants and Accommodation
Red rosettes
(logo – rosette)
AA inspectors annually award rosettes to restaurants for the quality of their food - the higher the number of rosettes the higher the quality. The assessors look at the preparation, presentation, seasonality and quality of the ingredients.
Taste of Nottinghamshire
(logo – Taste of Nottinghamshire)
Look out for the special logo awarded to businesses who pledge to serve at least three items of local produce (within a 30 mile radius) in their menus.
