The Robin Hood Festival will once again return with the usual jousting tournaments, story tellers, comedy acts and of course, Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham as they clash once more in the home of our outlaw!

The Legends 

The daring exploits of Robin Hood and the Sheriff’s men are brought to life with live action skirmishes under the mighty Major Oak throughout the week, plus the exciting jousting spectaculars on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. You will also be able to see the characters across the festival during the week!

Enjoy one of our day or evening events, places are limited and we advise that you pre-book tickets in advance from Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre or call 01623 823 202.

A chance to get up close and personal with these beautiful birds of prey and learn some fascinating facts about ‘the sport of kings’.

Music in the Forest

Join some of the festival’s talented musicians for a magical evening in the Open Air Theatre.

Twilight Tales

Thursday 4 August 7.30pm from the Visitor Centre

Past Imagined will lead you on a gentle story walk through the forest telling spellbinding tales accompanied by enchanting melodies from minstrel Trevor James!

LegendsAn Evening of Medieval Merriment!

Saturday 6 August 7.30 - 10pm

Let your hair down with Robin and the festival cast for an evening of mayhem and merriment. Let’s hope nobody’s told the Sheriff!

Adults £6, children £3, family £15 (2 adults, 2 children). Refreshments on sale.

Please note: Sorry, no dogs for any pre-bookable event. Tickets must be purchased in advance from Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre (booking fee applies)

Walk through the forest and encounter many of the festivals characters, take part in a range of activities, visit the legendary Major Oak and enjoy refreshments and lunch in the cafe at the welcome centre.

Hosted by Nottinghamshire County Council, the festival is a favourite with families in the summer holidays and once again there will be a week of FREE entertainment and a daily programme packed with education and entertainment for all ages.

Jousting and falconry will take place on Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday (subject to weather conditions)
