Outdoor Summer Cinema at Hodsock Priory

Summer Outdoor Film Screenings
The grounds of Hodsock Priory
Selected dates between Saturday 22 July - Sunday 27 August 2017

Five fabulous movies will be screened this summer at Hodsock Priory, the luxury weddings venue on the Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire border. The grounds of the 19th century country house will play host to films including the live action Beauty and the Beast and sing-along favourite, Mamma Mia!

From young children proudly wearing character costumes, to parents and grandparents relaxing in the stunning gardens, the audience are sure to enjoy an evening of cinema, al fresco dining and entertainment.

Movie fans should arrive early to guarantee a prime spot and are urged to bring a rug, cushions, deckchairs and picnic treats. Organisers’ Big Sky Cinema will welcome the Super Kitchen food truck serving snacks including nachos, hot dogs, milkshakes, ice-cream and fresh popcorn. Chairs will be set out in the grounds and the licensed Bar at Hodsock Priory will be open each evening for alcoholic and soft drinks.

Entry to the grounds will be from 6.30pm onwards. The venue has ample free parking, accessible toilets and plenty of space for play while waiting for the film to begin. The incredible classic movie events for summer 2017 are:

Saturday 22nd July - Beauty and the Beast (2017)
(PG - approx running time 129 minutes)

The classic love story is a ‘tale as old as time’. This new live-action version starring Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as the Beast stays
true to the original music while adding new songs to the score - singing along is encouraged.

Tuesday 25th July - Moana
(PG - approx running time 113 minutes)

A feisty teenage heroine adventures across the Pacific seas on a mission to save her people with help from demigod, Maui, in Walt Disney
Animation Studios’ Moana.

Wednesday 2nd August - The LEGO Batman Movie
(U - approx running time 104 minutes)

Lone vigilante LEGO Batman may have to work with others to save Gotham City from being taken over by a group of super-villains led by LEGO
Joker in this hugely entertaining animated action comedy.

Wednesday 16th August - Up

(U - approx running time 97 minutes)

A beautiful Pixar feature about 78-year-old Carl’s lifelong dream to visit Paradise Falls in South America. Tying thousands of balloons to his
house, he flies away but soon discovers a little boy called Russell has stowed away.

Sunday 27th August 2017 - Mamma Mia!
(PG - approx running time 106 minutes)

The final screening on Bank Holiday weekend is guaranteed to have the audience singing and dancing to hit songs by ABBA. Set in the Greek
Islands, Meryl Streep plays Donna who is preparing for her daughter Sophie's wedding. Meanwhile the bride-to-be is trying to find her real father to give her away.

Please note:
– Dogs (with the exception of Assistance Dogs) are not permitted.
– Plastic picnicware only please. No glass.
– Free Parking on the estate.
