Forest Live 2017 at Sherwood Pines

Friday 23 - Sunday 25 June 2017

Now looking forward to its sixteenth season, Forest Live gigs take place at seven fantastic forest locations including Sherwood Pines. The gigs are well known for their eclectic range of international artists, amazing atmosphere and their stunning locations.

The line up for 2017 is:

Friday 23 June - Olly Murs

Due to phenomenal demand for tickets, Olly Murs has added an extra date as part of Forest Live, the summer concert series organised by the Forestry Commission, playing Sherwood Pines Forest in June.

Last year saw Olly Murs celebrate his fourth consecutive number 1 album ‘24 HRS’, making him the most successful solo artist ever to come from the X Factor. Since he shot to fame in 2009, Olly has recorded four multi-platinum albums and produced four No 1 singles with total record sales exceeding ten million. ’24 HRS’ is the follow up to the acclaimed million selling ‘Never Been Better’.

Olly welcomes Louisa Johnson as his special guest. She became The X Factor’s youngest-ever winner, features on Clean Bandit’s massive hit ‘Tears’ and releases her debut album this year.

Saturday 24 June - Tom Jones - SOLD OUT

Tom Jones’ has sustained his popularity as a live performer and recording artist in a remarkable career spanning over five decades. Jones has a keen interest in a wide range of music; although well known for hits including ‘It’s Not Unusual’, ‘Kiss’, ‘Delilah’, ‘What’s New Pussycat’, ‘I’ll Never Fall In Love Again’ and ‘If I Only Knew’, he is first and foremost an artist with a true rhythm and blues soul.

In the latter part of 2015, Tom released his first ever autobiography entitled ‘Over The Top And Back’ and the book’s companion soundtrack entitled ‘Long Lost Suitcase’, which were extremely well received internationally. This year sees Tom back on our screens, where he has resumed his coaching role on ‘The Voice UK’ alongside fellow coaches Will.I.Am, Jennifer Hudson and Gavin Rossdale.

Sir Tom Jones is indeed a living legend, one of the few musical artists whose profession began at the dawn of modern popular music and who continues to have a vital recording and performing career to this day. His irresistible show traverses musical eras and genres, cutting across class divides and appealing to all ages, male and female, mainstream and cutting edge.

Sunday 25 June - Elbow

Elbow’s rise over the past two decades has seen them become one of the most important bands in contemporary British music. Since debut album, 2001’s ‘Asleep At The Back’ their stature has grown with subsequent releases such as ‘Cast of Thousands’, ‘Leaders Of The Free World’, ‘The Seldom Seen Kid’, ‘Build A Rocket Boys’ and 2014’s ‘The Take Off And Landing Of Everything’ that debuted at the top of the U.K. charts. Front man Guy Garvey’s story-telling lyrics have honed their unique identity and sound to establish the band a passionate fan base and critical acclaim on their musical journey including two Ivor Novellos and a BRIT award for Best British Band.
