Rufford Abbey Country Park is gearing up to host its annual Aurora Christmas illuminations which will see the park lit up in spectacular fashion.
The event has become a firm fixture in the park’s event calendar, with more than 6,000 people visiting the display since it was first launched in 2007.
The Aurora Christmas illuminations offer an alternative event for local people to enjoy the park in a magical evening setting. With calming background music and a beautiful spectrum of lights, the event aims to give everyone a leisure opportunity during the hustle and bustle of the festive period where they can relax.
It is also one of the few occasions in the annual calendar that the country park is open in the evening, and the lighting display also helps create an eerie but absorbing shadowy display as light beams project onto trees in the winter garden.
Aurora takes place from December 1 to 16 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only. Admission costs £3/£2 plus £3 per car parking charge.
