OVO Energy Tour of Britain 2017

The world's best cyclists are bearing down on Nottinghamshire!

Britain's premiere road cycling event will bring a fast and furious festival of colour and courage to the county, as the cyclists race flat out on an exciting course between Mansfield and Newark, taking in some of Nottinghamshire's finest scenery and sites.

Over 100 cycling elites will be racing the 175 kilometre stage - and will be treated to a route that takes in Clumber Park, Eastwood, Hucknall, Gedling, Newstead Abbey and Southwell along the way. It wouldn't be a visit to Robin Hood Country without dropping in on the ancient oaks of Sherwood Forest, and Robin's favourite hideaway, the Major Oak.

Particularly poignant for cyclists - the course visits Harworth and Bircotes, paying tribute to a true legend of cycling history - World Champion Tommy Simpson, who died close to the summit of Mont Ventoux during 1967's Tour de France. He lived in Nottinghamshire, and began his career in Harworth, with Harworth and District Cycling Club.

If you're visiting for the race, we look forward to welcoming you, and you'll find great accommodation, things to do and places to visit below.

Stage 4 of OVO Energy Tour of Britain is sponspored by the Barcode Warehouse and Berry Hill Mansfield.
