Nottinghamshire is the perfect place to enjoy sport and get active, boasting world-class facilities and great sporting pedigree. Did you know that Nottingham is the home to the oldest existing league football club in the world? This being Notts County Football Club. Nearby you’ll find the world famous Trent Bridge, which has seen Test Cricket being playing for over a century.
2016 also sees Nottingham living up to its Home of Sport title, as the prestigious European Archery Championships fires into the city. Nottinghamshire's world famous for its rebellious archer, and the sport's top athletes will be competing in this exciting event, to be held in a purpose built stadium in Old Market Square - from the 24th until the 29th of May. Get your tickets from Nottingham Tourism Centre, to watch some of Team GB's top atheletes on the road to the Rio Olympics.
The National Ice Centre is home of the Nottingham Panthers ice hockey team and the GB Short Track Speed Skating squad. Public skating sessions take place daily and families are welcome. The Nottingham Tennis Centre also has excellent facilities and has played host to many international tournaments.
