Creswell Crags is a world famous archaeological site, set in a limestone gorge with caves and a lake. It is home to Britain’s only known Ice Age cave art. This is thought to date back 13,000 years and the images of birds, bison, deer and horse provide a glimpse into the fascinating life of our distant relatives. There is plenty to see and do, whether you want a relaxing picnic or a walk. Creswell is an ideal place for families, the new centre houses state-of-the-art displays and interactive elements. Cave tours run on weekends and school holidays.
