Outdoor Theatre

When summer comes along, many of Nottinghamshire's best-loved attractions play host to a variety of outdoor shows. Bring along a picnic blanket - and something delicious to eat - and watch classic Shakespeare plays, delightful Gilbert and Sullivan operas and fun-filled children's shows in the picturesque grounds of historic houses and country parks.

There is also an opportunity to see popular films underneath the stars during the summer months.

Performances will be taking place around the county until August. Here's our round-up of some of the best.

Nottingham Castle

The immaculate formal gardens at Nottingham Castle make it the perfect spot to sit and enjoy an outdoor performance. This year's programme includes Macbeth, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Peter Pan and a traditional interpretation of the Robin Hood story. For a full list of what's on at the castle click here.
