Eating and Drinking at The Cornerhouse
Set adjacent to the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall, The Cornerhouse has many bars and restaurants to offer visitors. On the ground floor, you’ll find lots of bars with al fresco seating on the pedestrian terraces of Forman Street giving quite a continental almost piazza feel to this area of the city. There are some great brand named bars and restaurants in this area, visit The Cornerhouse listing for further details.
To access the additional floors of the Cornerhouse, you need to head to the entrance which is directly opposite the Royal Concert Hall on South Sherwood Street. A trip inside will easily give you access to the Cinema and Casino as well as a whole wealth of restaurants.
On the first floor is the Oriental buffet restaurant, Flaming Dragon which has over 80 dishes and desserts available at a fixed price. It’s a great option for a pre-theatre or pre-movie meal on your evening out.
Entertainment at The Cornerhouse
As well as the Cinema and Casino, The Cornerhouse is a great place to head for a laugh with Just The Tonic Comedy Club located on site. Open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the club brings excellent comic acts to Nottingham, including the likes of Sean Hughes, Rufus Hound, Richard Blackwood and Milton Jones. Check the listing and website for further details.
Getting There
Nottingham city centre isn’t that big, so if you’re staying overnight in the city it’s a fairly easy amble heading up the slope from Old Market Square. Alternatively, if you’re looking to arrive by car, the nearest car park is at Trinity Square which is between The Cornerhouse and the Victoria Shopping Centre. Finally, the tram is excellent in Nottingham, get off at the Royal Centre and walk across the front of the Theatre and over the road.
And that’s about all there is to know about The Cornerhouse. Not just a big night out in one place, but with the Theatre and Royal Concert Hall together with outstanding gig venues Rock City and the Rescue Rooms nearby, it makes for a lively start to your big night out.
