Mansfield is the largest market town in Nottinghamshire and has the biggest array of town centre shopping in the north of the county.
A central market square is the focal point in Mansfield town centre and shoppers will find active stalls on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, whilst a specialist farmers’ market takes place on the third Tuesday of every month.
At the back end of the square is Mansfield Town Hall and the recent addition of a water feature creates a relaxed atmosphere in the summer. The market square offers a focal point for occasional events in the town, particularly during the Summer in the Streets Festival in August.
Across the front of the market square is Westgate and along here are many high street favourites including Marks and Spencer, BHS, WHSmith and more. You’ll also find the main entrance to the Four Seasons Shopping Centre on Westgate which has yet more brands available inside.
At the back end of the market square is the viaduct that runs over Mansfield town centre. Running alongside the market square from here is Church Street which is home to some well renowned boutique shops, including EQVYS which stocks many designer goods.
When it’s time to take a break, you’ll find plenty of options for snacks on Regent Street with Lucy’s café also worth a visit at the top of the market square. The recent addition of a Costa on Westgate is a popular choice for many shoppers too.
On the outskirts of the town centre to the south is St Peter’s Retail Park which is home to Next, Boots, TK Maxx and Laura Ashley among others. On the northern outskirts is the Handley Arcade on Leeming Street which is home to more boutique shops including the long established Sally Twinkle.
Mansfield retains some very traditional elements to its town centre and the range of high street stores and boutiques close to the market square makes shopping easy.
