The Cumin is an incredible and big-hearted restaurant offering the most authentic North Indian cuisine in the city of Nottingham. Open for only three years, The Cumin is already an essential stop for visiting celebrities - Michael Buble, and Shilpa Shetty - and the city's legions of discerning curry connoisseurs. The Cumin has made its mark on Nottingham in a short space of time because of the quality and bountifulness of the food and the Anand family's big-hearted approach to hospitality which sees the restaurant participate in community and city life.
Spread over two floors, Cumin is intimate yet spacious, feeling modern without forgetting its Indian heritage, with swathes of reds and darks, solid furnishings and tastefully muted wallpaper.
The long and detailed menu is a mouth-watering romp through curry classics, new creations and a touch of East African influences for those keen to try something a little different. Ingredients are fresh and spices used to maximum effect. For these reasons visiting troupes of Indian performers and film stars have visited The Cumin or contracted their catering services when only an authentic taste of India will satisfy any longings for home; a visit to The Cumin presents the best opportunity for locals to taste the real India, in Nottingham.
