Pubs & Dining
Nottingham is the perfect place to enjoy the traditional English pint
With the oldest pub in England, Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem (located near the castle), you’ll have historic surroundings. In fact, in Nottingham we’ve always enjoyed a beer or two and only a short stumble away is Ye Old Salutation which dates back to 1240.
By Old Market Square is the Bell Inn, another great place to enjoy a drink and this is a favoured former watering hole of Lord Byron himself. Nottingham retains a very traditional feel as you head up to the Royal Concert Hall, try Langrty’s another classic pub in the heart of the city centre.
Al fresco cafes and bars
Across the road from the Royal Concert Hall and around the corner from Langtry’s you’ll find the Cornerhouse and as you walk along Forman Street, Nottingham takes the appearance of a continental piazza. Ground floor restaurants and bars extend onto the paved pedestrian walkway.
Alternatively head for Waterfront Plaza at Castle Wharf where the pubs and bars back onto the canal front. You’ll find a vibrant but relaxed atmosphere with old and new standing together. The Canal House pub is set in a former canal museum with a bridge to get to the bar and The Waterfront is a modern tiered venue with a young crowd.
