Vat and Fiddle

The Vat and Fiddle is the Castle Rock Brewery tap and therefore offers the full range of Castle Rock regular and occasional beers together with guest beers from other breweries. A short walk from Nottingham train station, the building was purpose built as a pub in the 1930s and retains many original art deco features and, without background music, exudes a traditional pub atmosphere.

Beside the hot food menu including Sunday lunch and many special dishes cooked with ale and cider, the Vat offers a range of filled rolls from mature cheddar & onion to the pubs specialty of home roast beef & blue stilton. There is also popular live music including the occasional Rock and Blues night.

The pub has recently been extended to include the Golding’s Room and Castle Rock Brewery Visitors’ Centre. The Golding’s Room has a modern and fresh feel which is popular with diners. The Visitors’ Centre, with its own bar, is a gift shop and reception area for those attending tours of the brewery. Both of these rooms are available for hire and have been used for meetings, presentations and parties.

The Vat & Fiddle is proud to have a very diverse clientele, ranging from students to visiting football fans. Whatever they are drinking, whether it’s ale, wine, cider or one of our 60 single malt whiskeys, they all enjoy the Vat’s traditional pub atmosphere.

The pub serves hot and cold food and a selection of savoury cobs.

Guest beers are always changing – but they aim to serve Castle Rock’s core range at all times.
