INVITING SINGLE ROOM PUB WITH A DYNAMIC FOOD AND DRINK OFFERING
Situated opposite the imposing St Mary’s church, in the historic and now, culturally vibrant Lace Market area of Nottingham is the small, but perfectly formed, Kean’s Head. Taking its name from the esteemed and renowned 18th/19th Century Shakespearean actor Edmund Kean. Who performed at the original Theatre Royal, which itself, at the time, was situated on St Mary’s Gate.
Opened by Castle Rock in 2004, it was Nottingham’s first ‘no smoking’ pub. Since opening, The Kean’s Head has established itself as one of Nottingham’s finest hidden gems. A small, cosy and inviting one room pub, it offers its customers a choice of six traditional cask conditioned ales, two traditional ciders, eight draught keg products that include lager, cider, stout and fruit beer, and a dedicated craft keg wall featuring ten lines. It also prides itself on having one of the East Midlands most impressive world bottled beer ranges along with an extensive variety of 100+ bottles and cans, 60+ whiskys, 20+ rums and 50+ gins. The Kean’s Head now also offers a “break-even” keg once a month, featuring something rare and wonderful. For those who prefer the grape to the grain, there is also a carefully selected choice of global wine.
For food, there is something to please all. With an emphasis on classic dishes, prepared to the highest quality, with the freshest local ingredients, the ‘home-cooked’ fayre at the Kean’s Head, never fails to satisfy.
With a warm, welcoming atmosphere – friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff – The Kean’s Head is the ideal place to relax and enjoy, whether it be a peaceful Monday afternoon or a vibrant and lively Saturday evening.
