Situated in the heart of Sherwood Forest, home of the legendary Robin Hood, The Forest Lodge is an 18th century coaching inn owned and run by the Thompson family.
Over the years, it has become a multi-award winning establishment : awarded ” best venue in 2005 ” and “best service 2011 ” by local businesses; the local CAMRA “Pub of the Year” 2010,2011 and 2013 ; “Pub of the Season” for summer 2011 and winter 2012; Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for 2013 and 2014.
As essential parts of the hotel, the Forest Lodge boasts two intimate, beamed public bar areas with open fires and a contemporary furbished beamed restaurant. At any one time we have a selection of four different cask ales on offer in addition to Charles Wells’ ‘Bombardier Bitter’ which is permanently available.
We have been independently accredited by ‘Cask Marque’. We are regularly in touch with traditional breweries, both local and national, and are constantly striving to introduce new beers for our customers to try.
Please note that we also have started a collaboration with Welbeck Abbey Brewery who brew on our behalf The Forest Lodge English pale ale – 3.6%, a light golden hoppy session ale.
Additionally, The Forest Lodge is accredited to four star standard with the AA and is rated under the National Accessible Scheme and has appeared in the Good Beer Guide since 2007
