Easter Holidays

Spend your Easter in Nottinghamshire

Whether you are planning a relaxing Easter break or looking for something to keep the kids entertained during the holidays you will find plenty of things to do in Nottinghamshire.

Families will love the Eggciting Easter Eggstravaganza at Green's Windmill and Science Centre, which takes place from 7th, 8th and 9th April from 10am till 3pm. Explore the the stunning windmill, which was restored in 1985, as your little ones go in search of chocolate treats. You'll also get a chance to bake some chocolate nests and Easter biscuits on 12th and 14th April. There is more holiday fun at Bolsover Castle with the Easter Adventure Quest, which takes place over Easter weekend. Over the four days you will be able to meet characters from the past, such as kings, Roman centurions or monks.

Visit Ye Olde Bell and indulge in the Easter Sunday Lunch. Bring the family along and enjoy a delicious four course lunch. There will also be a special children's Easter Bonnet competition with the best bonnet winning their family's lunch. Ye Olde Bell, which is in the pretty village of Barnby Moor near Retford, is also hosting an Easter Sunday luncheon over the Easter long weekend giving you the chance to spend time with your loved ones while enjoying delicious food. You'll also get a chance to sample special Easter menus at The Kitchen Garden at Kelham House Hotel and Cockliffe Country House Restaurant.

Take the family to Rufford Abbey where spring is already in the air with Easter egg hunt for your little ones. From 1st till 17th April children can enjoy following the fun Easter trail, exploring the grounds and gardens while trying to collect giant East eggs. Trails cost £1.00 and include a sweet reward. If you're looking for fun things to do for the little ones in the city centre you can take them to the Nottingham Castle where they can help King Arthur and his Knights find the missing Dragon's Easter Eggs hidden around the Castle's grounds. Or play with cute animals and join various activities at Stonebridge City Farm.

Or why not make the most of the long weekend by planning a night out with dinner and dancing? At Tom Brown's Brasserie, on the banks of the River Trent, you can tuck into a three-course meal and listen to live music, or enjoy an Easter Sunday Lunch Cruise, with Trent River Cruises serving delicious three course lunch freshly cooked and prepared in the onboard galley.

Lastly Hart's Hotel and Restaurant are offering the chance to win two fantastic prizes with their Decorate an Easter Egg Competition. With two categories (one for grown-ups and one for kids!) you can win an overnight stay at Hart's Hotel including a three course set meal for two at Hart's Resaurant, or 2 tickets to see Cinderella at Nottingham Playhouse, plus a family skate pass for use at the Nottingham Ice Arena.
