Heroes & Villains tour guide

See the hometown of Robin Hood like you’ve never seen it before!

Homicidal medieval Kings, the very first Vampyre, modern Olympians, evil murderers - and of course the outlaw Robin Hood. From Lady Chatterley’s Lover to Lord Byron, the history of Nottingham told through its colourful characters, presented by an expert story-teller – Dr. David Cross.

Short-listed twice for the Nottingham STARS Awards and chosen by Experience Nottinghamshire to host the ‘Robin Hood - The Movie’ global prize-winner tours of the city in 2010 and 2011, David’s tours are professional and enthralling.

All our tours are run for groups by arrangement only, minimum charge £120. Details of all tours can be found on our main website.

“David's knowledge and enthusiasm is exceptional, the pace of the tour is perfect and everyone really enjoyed it ..”
“Our guide was obviously very passionate about history & came across as very charismatic …”
“Had a fantastic time on today's tour. All of the stories were really engaging …”
“… friendly and has great presence …”
(see our TripAdvisor page for more).

Nottingham Heroes & Villains Tour – the product of 25 years’ experience in Nottinghamshire tours, we bring the city to life in this 2 hour walking tour. Available for groups all year.

Newstead Abbey Tours – we ran the very first ghost tours of Newstead Abbey over 20 years ago. We will tell you all about Lord Byron (the famous Romantic poet), his ancestral home, and its many spirited inhabitants, on a 1 hour walking tour around the grounds. Available for groups all year.

Nottingham Council House Tours – David is an official Guide for free tours at the Council House, a fantastic art deco building at the very heart of the city. It is often possible for David to include a visit to the Council House as part of one of his other tours, at no extra cost.

Nottingham & The Great War Tours – researched by David as part of the ‘Trent to Trenches’ project, this 2 hour walking tour is available to groups by arrangement.
