Nottingham Society of Artists Gallery

There is always plenty to see at the home of The Nottingham Society of Artists. Situated only a few yards from the entrance to Nottingham Castle, the splendid gallery has a vibrant programme of exhibitions throughout the year, showing a wide and varied selection of work from members of the Society as well as from amateur and professional artists from all over the county.

The Society, having been founded in 1880, is one of the oldest art societies in the country and numbers famous artists among former members, notably Dame Laura Knight, Harold Knight, Sir John Arnesby Brown and Arthur Spooner. The current membership comprises artists of all ages whose exciting and innovative work ensures that the standards set in the past are upheld. It has a long and close relationship with the city and is well worth its place on the tourist trail.

The exhibition programme runs throughout the year, closing only for rehanging between shows and over the Christmas holiday.
The opening hours are, typically, 10am-4.30pm daily, including Sundays. Admission is free and work is for sale.
