If you want to escape the rush of city life then our rural market towns have plenty to offer. From centuries of history and culture, to some of Britain’s most beautiful countryside.

    • Newark

Newark is situated on the eastern side of Nottinghamshire with good links via the A1. The place has a rich history which includes the Civil War.

    • Retford

An attractive town to the very north of the county which is close to the villages of Babworth and Scrooby and the Pilgrim Fathers heritage.

    • Mansfield

A large market town in the north of the county with family attractions such as Watermeadows and Making it available.

    • Southwell

The beautiful Minster lies in the centre of the town with the Saracen's Head only a stones throw away, making this a very pretty place to visit.

    • Worksop

Known as the 'Gateway to the Dukeries', Worksop is situated in the north of the county with easy access to the likes of Clumber Park and Harley Gallery.

    • Hucknall

St Mary Magdelane Church is the final resting place of the poet Lord Byron and Hucknall also boasts the birthplace of the writer of the Dambusters Theme.

    • Eastwood

Birthplace of DH Lawrence and previously dominated by the coal mining industry. Some places form the back drop of his novels.
