Creswell Crags

Creswell Crags is a limestone gorge honeycombed with caves and smaller fissures. Stone tools and remains of animals found in the caves by archaeologists provide evidence for a fascinating story of life during the last Ice Age between 50,000 and 10,000 years ago. Further evidence came to light in 2003 with the discovery of Britain’s only known Ice Age rock art.

Ice Age Tours:
Discover what Creswell Crags was like during the last IceAge on a tour of Robin Hood Cave, the largest cave on site. Find out who was here, what was here, why they were here and how we know about it.

Rock Art Tour:
This is your chance to see Britain's only known Ice Age Rock Art, which was discovered by archaeologists in 2003. These engravings of animals, birds and motifs are 13,000 years old, making Church Hole Cave the oldest art gallery in the country.
