Based at Nottinghams old courthouse and gaol, there are many ways to explore the Galleries of Justice museum, with free exhibitions, audio & performance led tours and a themed café.
Whatever you choose to do, you will be delving in to the dark and disturbing past of crime and punishment.

Travel back in time to the days when Nottingham Shire Hall was the only place in the UK where you could be tried, incarcerated and hanged on the front steps, all in the name of justice.

Witness a real trial in the original Victorian courtroom, put your family in the dock before being sentenced and 'sent down' to the original prison cells.

From 29 March 2012 you will be able to see the notorious Bow Street Dock in the museum.
