As the festive season approaches, Nottinghamshire comes to life with Christmas lights and decorations adorning shops and buildings.
At the flick of a switch you will see a magical Winter Wonderland appear in the centre of Nottingham while our towns and villages will be illuminated as festive events take place at the end of November. The celebrations coincide with the start of late-night shopping so why not enjoy a mulled wine and something delicious to eat before buying your Christmas gifts?
Nottingham - Old Market Square
Lights switch-on: 24th November, 5:30pm-8pm.
Nottingham’s festive lights switch-on will mark the opening of the Winter Wonderland in Old Market Square, complete with ice rink, Christmas trees and snow-capped cabins.
The Winter Wonderland includes a traditional festive market selling beautiful Christmas gifts and warming mulled wine. There is also a bandstand, rides and a Nativity scene.
Newark - Market Place
Lights switch-on: 27th November, 11am - 5pm
The count-down to Christmas in Newark will begin on 27th November with a day of activities, live music and market with the lights switch-on and full schedule of entertainment throughout the day. Find out what else you can expect here.
Mansfield - Market Square
Lights switch-on: 20th November
The market town of Mansfield will host an afternoon of fun and entertainment at the Big Switch-On, which takes place in the town square. This year is set to be bigger and better with FREE and low cost activities taking place throughout the day. Visit Santa in his toy factory grotto, enjoy a parade with special guests and take part in a circus and magic workshop as well as the free Buzzy B Club in the Four Seasons Shopping Centre.
