Robin Hood Beer & Cider Festival

The Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival, which takes place in the grounds Nottingham Castle, is the highlight of the year for both seasoned ale lovers and those who like the occasional pint. With a selection of more than 1,000 real ales and 200 ciders and perries on offer, the festival gives you the chance to see what is being brewed here in Nottinghamshire and further afield.

Organised by Nottingham CAMRA, the 2015 festival takes place between 7th and 10th October and as well as the beer and cider, there will also be plenty of live entertainment on the bandstand. Another major draw is the vast array of artisan food which normally includes stone-baked pizzas, hog roasts, Indian food and local cheese.

Last year’s festival attracted more than 25,000 people so you are advised to get your tickets early if you are planning to attend. Entry is priced at £17.50 for Thursday and £20 for the Friday and Saturday (including beer tokens and commemorative glass) and £10 for the Wednesday evening. Early Bird tickets are also available. Tickets are available from the Nottingham Tourism Centre on Smithy Row.

Why not turn your beer festival weekend into a mini break? We have plenty of city centre hotels, apartments and hostels which are just a short walk away from the castle. Don’t forget to share your Robin Hood Beer Festival experience with us on Twitter and Facebook using the hashtag #LoveNotts.

Nottinghamshire also has a packed programme of beer festivals taking place throughout the year, including the Retford, Hucknall and Newark Beer Festivals. There are also regualar events at pubs and bars. To see what's coming up click here.
