From our Canals and Waterways to the Dukeries and then to the depths of Sherwood Forest, a wonderful array of nature and wildlife awaits. The County has a number of Country ParksNature Reserves, Farm Parks, Theme Parks and even a Zoo where you can get close to nature for relaxing walks, fun activities and close encounters with friendly animals.

Visit the woodland home of our famous outlaw at Sherwood Forest Country Park.  An impressive reserve of ancient oak and birch trees.  You can trace the legend from the 800 year old Major Oak, the rumoured meeting place of the Merry Men, all the way to Robin Hood’s cave at Creswell Crags

Nottinghamshire is also a haven for those of you who are adrenaline junkies and like to keep active.  See our Get Active section for further details.
